They aren’t behaving today!


Mother is a scowler
A dark cloud, people stare over
Because it’s entertainment
‘We ain’t got kids yet, thank God. Never will looking at that brood’
She herds her army of children, Eskimos in puffer jackets
Shouts and threatens
Her voice louder but with less command
Children giggle
Play with coat zips

She doesn’t come through on those threats
Love is a passion
Demand for obedience
Children are so wilful
They are aware of your array of buttons
And they stomp on them
Until tyres squeal
Trying to gain some authority
