Care to introduce yourself?
I’m Erren Geraud Kelly, from Seattle, WA

What do you write?
Poetry, for the past 26 years.

What are you currently working on?
Well, the last time I wrote a poem was a couple of days ago…does that count 🙂
[Editor’s note: yes, it does count.]

One word that describes your writing habits?
Unpredictable.

Do you write using a computer? A mobile device? If so, what software do you use? (Operating system, apps, etc.)
Yes, with a laptop. I haven’t figured out how to write a poem on a tablet. I have written a poem on my smartphone.

What software/apps can’t you live without?
MS Word, excel, etc.

Care to share a photo of your desktop?
If I can figure out a way to send a pic, I’ll send it

Do you write longhand? If so, what medium do you use? (Type of notebook, pens, pencil, note cards, etc.)
Usually I keep a journal with me, but sometimes, i write on sheets of paper; sometimes in the blank spaces of books, once, i even wrote a poem on my hand

Where do you spend most of your time writing?
In coffeehouses. On trains, on buses, in bed.

When is the best time for you to write?
When the muse visits me. Sometimes, I look for things to write about

Complete this sentence: My biggest writing quirk is…
Keeping the idea in my head and following through on it.

What are you currently reading?
The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

What music (or other audio) do you listen to while you work?
Either jazz or classical music; sometimes, 80’s music.

The best piece of writing advice you’ve received?
Don’t be neat. Be messy. Your writing comes together in the second and subsequent drafts.
