my mama grows roses
             like beethoven
                                  composed symphonies
    like michael jordan shot threes
             like warhol
                                       made pictures
                                                                           with ease
my mama grows tomatoes
             like denzel plays roles
like naomi campbell strikes a

like obama
     outlines his goals
my mama sits in her

like alexander the great
                      after a battle won

like angelina jolie tanning
in the sun

like a boss
            when the day is done

Erren is a poet based in Burlington, Vermont, by way of Chicago, by way of Louisiana, by way of Maine, by way of California,by way of New York City and so on.
