Spent the weekend working on the slider now on the front page. Wait, you don’t see it? You might have to clear your web browser’s cache. I myself having to do the same.
I think you’ll agree that the slider presents new posts in a entertaining way. If anyone feels the slider moves too fast, let me know and I’ll adjust things on our end. If you would like the slider to stop moving on a certain posts, just hover your mouse over that post and you pause the slider.
Another new addition to the site is the ability to upload your work directly to the site. If you’re wondering, “Couldn’t we already do that?” Well, yes and no. Before, you would complete a submission for and the system would email the form to the right editor. Now, when you submit a post, it goes in a pending queue. From there, an editor can review the work contact the author directly. We recently partnered with Hey Publisher, an online submission service, which will allow you to send your manuscript automatically through them. (Post to follow shortly.)
Next up is to get our staff page running. Seems like every time I start working on it, something more pressing knocks on my door. I do want to have it completed by the end of this month. From there, I want to take a look at the menu layout and make sure the site is easy to navigate.
We will continue publishing until October 24, 2015 before taking a break in November for NaNoWriMo. When we return in December, we will spend the month uploading work lost due to a previous site hack. (I write more about that later.)
Okay, I’ll let you get back reading the fun stuff. Have a great day!
