The Road to Insufficient Road

Project 366 #32: 010212 Running On Empty

Destination irrelevant, negative miles
traveled in reverse do not add up.
Gas gauge hovers just above empty.
Two flat tires and one spare, four ways
flashing on the side of the highway.
I would walk, but forgot to pack the emergency
changes of clothes, practical shoes. So I sit
and wait for assistance, which never comes
fast enough. At least no one will be surprised
when I don’t show up.
